Bingo originated in Italy around the
16th century. It came from the Italian lottery, Lo
Giuoco del Lotto (d) "Italy. The Italian national
lottery was founded in 1530 and still exists to this
day. It is estimated that this lottery 75 million
euro per year and it is one of the main income from
the Government. The bingo game was also very popular
in France. In 1778, the French on their own, called
Le Lotto game where the main bingo was.
Bingo was also much as educational purpose used
during the 17th century. In 1850 was a bingo game in
Germany that children learned to multiply. Other
games were such as animals, spelling Lotto and
betting history lotto. The name bingo is a
corruption of the word Beano. Beano is the name of
the beans used the numbers.
The rise of the bingo game came in 1929 in Germany.
At this time was called have game is still as Beano.
The game was other than that we know today. An
announcer snatched by a box with wood chips with
numbers engraved. If people had the correct number
she laid a bean (English bean, hence the name as
Beano) on that spot. If a player has a horizontal,
vertical, or diagonal row full, then he called
"BEANO" and if its price.
Ed Lowe, a toy seller from New York discovered the
game on a village fair in Germany. He bought the
game and introduced the in America but changed the
game. He invited some friends in his apartment,
playing a game of beano and when a woman
accidentally called Bingo instead of Beano does he
renamed the game and this led to an immediate
success.
At one point there was a priest from Wilkes Barre,
PA was in money problems and decided to use the game
bingo as a money collection action. He bought the
game of Lowe but thought it was very frustrating
that there is often a multiple winners at the same
time. This problem could only be solved if there are
bingo cards would come up with more digit
combinations. Lowe went with his problem to a
mathematical scholar, called Carl Leffler and asked
him if he's more combinations on the bingo cards.
This was successful because he made 6000 new bingo
cards, all of which were different.
The great success of the fundraising of the priest
led to a "bingo instruction manual" and later, there
was even a monthly magazine on bingo called
"blotter". At the moment, it is more popular than
ever and bingo is played all over the world. The
latest rage is bingo online games over the Internet.
And all this thanks to Ed Lowe That bingo introduced
in America and then to the rest of the world.
